Following the success of Adventures In Space, Pants on Fire extended
their training program by presenting a unique intensive training in
Mask:Adventures In Mask. The course was launched in January
2006.
Adventures In Mask will be taught by Pants on Fire’s
Artistic Director, Peter Bramley and consists of practical classes
over 10 weeks, or intensively over 1 weekend. Students will be introduced
to the work of Jacques Lecoq and a variety of other approaches to
contemporary performance and actor training in mask. Students will
develop specific performance skills while gaining a broader understanding
of the use of masks in a wide range of performance contexts.
Adventures In Mask is a creative and enjoyable course that
seeks to engage the imagination and develop awareness of space, physicality
and theatrical play in performance through the use of masks. The course
will culminate in a small performance using a simple mask that students
will have made for themselves.
